Northstone and Great Places hail double completion
The partners have delivered close to 100 homes across sites in Wigan and Lancaster, the first projects that Peel’s housing arm and the registered provider have worked on together.
Located off Lancaster’s Scotforth Road, Breacla comprises 31 homes, a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership tenures to an established residential area.
The scheme forms part of a wider development by Northstone, Peel’s housing arm. It includes one-bed cottage flats, two-bed bungalows, and two-, three- and four-bed houses.
Great Places completed the £6.2m deal for Scotforth in July last year.
In Pemberton, Wigan, Northstone’s Abri development comprises 66 homes across shared ownership, affordable rent and social rent tenures. The homes here are part of the GMCA initiative to deliver net-zero carbon homes.
Energy performance is a strength of both projects, said Northstone. Some homes have been built using timber frame construction and others incorporate battery storage technology.
