Northern Trust progresses 100,000 sq ft Morecambe industrial

Located on a 7.2-acre site at Southgate Trade Park, the multi-let proposal features 69 units.

Northern Trust has submitted a planning application for the Morecambe development, which offers a total of 101,000 sq ft of lettable space, to Lancaster City Council. The application has not yet been validated.

The development would offer a range of options for occupiers across 11 blocks, including starter units up to 818 sq ft, medium units up to 1,600 sq ft, and larger units ranging from 2,100 sq ft and 3,300 sq ft.

Paddock Johnson is leading on design and planning matters are being dealt with in-house by Northern Trust.

The scheme would more than double the capacity of Southgate Trade Park, which is part of the wider White Lund Industrial Estate. Currently the site offers 87,600 sq ft let to the likes of Euro Car Parts and Empire Carpets.

Jonathan Houghton, operations director at Northern Trust, said: “We are delighted to bring forward plans for this significant new development at Southgate Trade Park. The proposed units will provide flexible, modern space for businesses of all sizes, supporting growth and investment in the local economy.

“We are committed to creating high-quality employment space that meets the needs of the Lancashire business community and delivers long-term benefits for the region.”
