Zavvi signs up for Liverpool One

Entertainment retailer Zavvi, formerly Virgin Megastore Group, is to open a store within Grosvenor's Liverpool One development.

The outlet will be the firm's second in the city, in addition to an existing unit in Clayton Square, and will be located on the corner of Paradise Street and New Manesty's Lane.

The 15,000 sq ft store is due to open at the end of August and bosses are set to start recruiting for 45 members of staff in February.

Zavvi was formed in 2007 when a management buy-out took control of the UK Virgin Megastore high street operation.

The 43-acre, £950m, 1.5m sq ft scheme opens its first phase on May 29.
