YEP seeks young talent to grow networking group
Young Entrepreneurs in Property Manchester, the fledgling networking forum for the sector's under 35s, is holding open 'auditions' to find a new committee member to help take the group forward into its second year.
Interested parties will have to submit a written application as well as, YEP said, taking part in "an X-Factor style interview with a panel of existing committee members".
Since launching in September 2007, YEP Manchester has been run on a voluntary basis by a dedicated team of professionals – Matthew Mackey, Arcadis AYH; Chris Perrin, DLA Piper; Clare Lawrence, Crush Communications; Nicola Delaney, Herriotts Design & Build; Simon Millington, HKR Architects; and Adam Jackson, Lambert Smith Hampton – who have given up their time to organise networking events for their contemporaries.
The first year saw three events held and 600 members join. Matthew Mackey, chairman of the YEP committee and director at Arcadis AYH, said: "We're throwing the net out far and wide to ensure that we get the best possible candidates. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative and has the capacity to get involved. For each event we have to source leading speakers and sponsors so we also need someone who has the connections with industry figureheads to help us achieve this.
"The last nine months have been great fun and we're really looking forward to having a new colleague on board. We hope to have chosen our new committee member and make an announcement at our 1st birthday celebrations in September."
