X1 adds to Salford pipeline with The Campus

X1 Developments has outlined plans for its latest student accommodation project, 272 studio apartments on Frederick Street near to the University of Salford.

Falconer Chester Hall has designed two eight-storey blocks, surrounded by a landscaped courtyard. A planning application for the project has been submitted to Salford City Council by Zerum on behalf of X1.

The site currently features a mix of low-rise warehouses.

The Campus is one of several residential projects that X1 is delivering in Manchester and Salford. In May the developer submitted reworked plans for a site on Trafford Road, which it had increased in size to total 193 buy-to-let apartments, near to its X1 The Exchange building, which totals 140 flats.

In Ancoats, X1 and Knight Knox are building The Plaza, 200 flats, and The Eastbank, 111 flats. The developer also has approval for 1,100 apartments at MediaCityUK.
