Wulvern appoints Galliford Try to £6.6m extra care scheme

Galliford Try Partnerships has won a £6.6m contract to build an extra care scheme for Wulvern Housing at Blacon near Chester.

The project includes construction of 24 one-bedroom apartments, 36 two-bedroom apartments and three two-bed wheelchair friendly apartments along with landscaping works.

Alongside the new homes there will be a variety of facilities for residents including a bistro, event area, craft workshop, hair and beauty salon, wellbeing area and a snug.

Most of these additional facilities will also be open to members of the local community.

Darren Leary, development director at Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said: "Building upon Partnerships' expertise in the extra care sector, this scheme represents our first opportunity to work in partnership with Wulvern and we look forward to delivering a high quality development for their residents."

The architect is Pozzoni.
