Woodford’s canal scheme approved

Rochdale council has given Woodford Land the go-ahead to create a mixed-use scheme on the site of a former chemical plant in Littleborough.

The £28m scheme will comprise of 158 houses, six apartments, a 50-bedroomed hotel and 30,000 sq ft of office space on the site of the former Akzo Nobel site, on Hollingworth Road.

Woodford Land forms part of the Woodford Group, which is owned by Bolton-born entrepreneur Stephen Daubney. The group has not yet decided whether it will build the development itself. Work will begin shortly.
