BAE Woodford site plan

Woodford findings to be presented next week

The conclusions of a public consultation into the future of the 504 acre Woodford Aerodrome will be unveiled at a public meeting on Thursday 14 July.

Stockport and Cheshire East Councils will present the findings of a series of public exhibitions and design workshops, run by Taylor Young in May and June.

Landowner BAE Systems will leave the site at the end of the year and hand it over to the local authorities in March 2012.

A supplementary planning document will be drawn up to guide development on the site, where 103 acres can be developed and the remainder will be returned to countryside. Development will focus on the north side of the site near Woodford Village.

The presentation will be held at 6.30pm on Thursday 14 July 2011 at Woodford Community Centre Chester Road, Woodford, Stockport, SK7 1PS.

A further round of consultation is planned to start later this month.
