Women in Property names chairman

Kat Brown, marketing manager at AEW Architects, has been appointed the 2015-16 chairman of the North West branch of Women in Property.

Brown has been a member of WiP for six years. She joined AEW in 2012. The practice's core sectors include industrial, retail, sport, commercial and accommodation.

Brown replaces Lucy Worrall, head of housing and regeneration at Forbes Solicitors.

WiP is a national organisation that seeks to enhance the profile of women in the sector, both by providing a f orum for women in these professions and by encouraging and nurturing talent.

Brown said: "Women in Property has been supporting women working in the property and construction sector for nearly 30 years, promoting networking, mentoring and professional development. Over this time the diversity agenda has really come to the fore, with employers beginning to understand the benefits that come from bringing together a mixed team.

"WiP is a great advocate of this and works hard to help senior management address diversity issues and less experienced members realise their potential."
