Wirral retirement scheme gets green light at appeal

Galliford Try Partnerships has been given the go-ahead for the demolition of the former Millhouse pub in Moreton to make way for 38 homes for the over 55s.

Euan Kellie Property Solutions secured the decision on behalf of Galliford Try at appeal earlier this week.

The scheme was designed by Nicol Thomas.

The pub has been empty since it was closed in February this year.

Euan Kellie, director of Euan Kellie Property Solutions said: “This is an important scheme which will provide much needed residential accommodation in this part of the Wirral and bring activity to an underused site. Although it was refused last October, against officer’s recommendation, it has now been approved by the Planning Inspectorate who said that the scheme responds to a recognised shortfall in affordable housing and in so doing will contribute to delivering mixed and balanced communities.”
