Wincham housing set for approval

Cheshire West & Chester Council is set to grant outline planning permission to the development of 105 homes in Wincham, a small village to the north of Northwich.

The scheme is on a 7-acre brownfield site behind Cedars Chapel Street which is owned by WR Roberts & Sons, a metal processing company which currently operates a facility on part of the plot.

The development will include a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses.

If approved, the scheme will act as the first phase of the 950-home Wincham urban village which was approved by the council at the end of 2013.

The planning application was submitted by Barrie Newcombe Associates on behalf of WR Roberts.

Planning officers have recommended the scheme for approval at the Cheshire West & Chester strategic planning committee on 28 May.
