Wilson Bowden confident Barratt woes will not hit Kingsway

Wilson Bowden today said it remained business as usual at its Kingsway business park in Rochdale, as it prepares to launch the first completed phase, despite fears over the financial health of parent Barratt.

The Kingsway Partnership will officially launch Plot E to agents on Tuesday 1 July 2008. Plot E, which comprises five industrial units, is the first to be completed at the 420-acre mixed-use development. Two of the five units have already been taken by Vindon Scientific and Takeuchi Mfg, leaving three units; 19,679 sq ft, 34,307 sq ft and 33,500 sq ft.

A spokeswoman for Wilson Bowden said the company remained committed to the scheme and had not changed its plans. No-one from Barratt was available for comment. Barratt's share price has fallen sharply in recent weeks as its struggles to reassure shareholders that it will not breach its loan to value covenants. Barratt bought Wilson Bowden for £2.2bn last year.

The July event also marks the opening of the Kingsway marketing suite, which is based in one of the Plot E units. Site tours will take place between 7.30 am and 8.30 am along with a complimentary breakfast and a chance to view the new marketing suite.
