Wilmslow office bought by shipping firm

Banks & Lloyd Shipping has bought the 6,329 sq ft Brook House in Church Street, Wilmslow, from a private investor for its new head office.

The building was available through agents Lambert Smith Hampton at a quoting price of £1.5m.

Banks & Lloyd Shipping will relocate from its existing premises at St Ann's House in Wilmslow in order to expand its operations with China the USA and Europe.

David Thwaites, associate director at LSH's Manchester office, commented: "Although the credit crunch has seen a downturn in freehold activity over the past 12 months, the disposal of Brook House provided a rare opportunity for occupiers within Wilmslow to purchase their own building. The high level of interest generated is testament to the continuing popularity of the town centre as a business location."
