Whittaker puts another £330k into CSC

John Whittaker has continued his buying spree on the stock market with a further 105,000 Capital Shopping Centres shares added to his portfolio.

CSC said today that the Peel Group chairman acquired the latest shares for 314.8p/share last Wednesday. The share price on Monday morning was 329p. This takes his stake in the shopping centres group, which bought the Trafford Centre in January for a mix of shares, cash and debt, to 24.57%, including bonds that could be converted into shares at a later date. Whittaker completed several transactions in August, spending £8m on CSC shares, following the company’s annual results .

Whittaker is deputy chairman of CSC and last week installed Mike Butterworth, boss of the Trafford Centre, as chief operating officer of CSC.

CSC owns 14 centres around the UK and is due to give an interim management statement about trading performance since 1 July to investors on Monday 31 October.
