Whitegates auction sees 70% of lots sold

The latest auction from Whitegates, held last week at the Radisson SAS in Liverpool, topped £1m in sales from around 30 lots.

The auction, which attracted over 200 people is expected to see in excess of 70% of the 35 lots on offer sold. The hammer came down on the majority of the lots at above the guide price. The highest price lot in the auction, a four bedroom detached property in Woolton was sold for £406,000, beating the guide price by £11,000.

Debbie Taylor, director of Whitegates Auctions, said: "We've seen a 60% increase in enquiries at this auction. Having spoken to the buyers and sellers it would appear that, as well as the traditional investors, the auction room is now attracting first time buyers and also individuals who want to sell their home quickly but still achieve a good price."

Whitegates Auctioneer, Dave Redmond added: "The buzz has certainly returned to the auction room, the move to the Radisson has really moved the auction onto the next level."

  • The next Whitegates auction at the Radisson SAS, Liverpool will be held on 12 November. To enter lots call Debbie Taylor on 0151 523 0800, closing date for lots is 16 October 2009.
