White Oak takes 15,000 sq ft in Chester
The business lender has left Ewloe behind in favour of setting up its UK headquarters on the second floor of the HQ building.
White Oak Europe signed a ten-year lease for the space and is about to embark on a hiring drive to recruit up to 40 additional staff.
The office space at HQ Chester has been fully refurbished. Set off Nicholas Street, it boasts views of historic Chester and of Chester Racecourse.
“The new office move to HQ Chester is a major statement of intent for White Oak’s continued growth and evolution,” said James Felton, White Oak Europe’s chief operating officer.
“The relocation to Chester reaffirms our commitment to the North West as our home where we can continue to support our customers in the region and across the UK,” he continued.
Legat Owen represented HQ Chester on the deal. CBRE acted for White Oak.
White Oak also has offices in London, Glasgow and Southampton. Earlier this year it announced that it had committed £40m to help businesses in the North West.
According to HQ Chester’s website, there is still 29,400 sq ft of space left to rent in the building. The 250,000 sq ft building – comprised of apartments, restaurants, offices and a hotel – was developed by Liberty Properties in 2008 and completed in 2009. It was designed by McCormick Architecture for the planning phase, with AFL Architects taking over during the construction details phase.
