Watts Group appointed for inspections work

Cheshire West & Chester Council has awarded Watts Group with a £137,500 building inspections contract on properties within the borough.

The Manchester office of the Watts Group has been appointed to inspect selected residential homes which includes carrying out a housing health and safety rating system assessment.

The duration of the contract was not disclosed.

As a consultant to the construction industry, Watts has offices across Europe and its Manchester office is the largest of the Group's regional operations, which has been open since 1993.

RAAC has been found in 234 schools across the country, leading the government to commit to rebuilding or refurbishing at least one block in 119 institutions – with the other 110 to receive grants to fund the removal of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete.
