Waterman hires transport planning lead from Mott MacDonald

Multidisciplinary consultant Waterman Group has appointed Darren McCrohan as technical director in its transportation planning and traffic engineering team, based in Manchester.

McCrohan joined the company at the end of February from fellow consultant Mott MacDonald, where he was a technical specialist. He has also worked for Aecom as regional director of its North West traffic engineering business.

Projects he has worked on include the Metrolink’s expansion in East Manchester; and an advisory role on New York’s development of its bus rapid transit routes.

Based out of the group’s Manchester office on Peter Street, McCrohan’s regional remit will also the Midlands, the North, and Scotland.

John Hughes, regional director for Waterman Infrastructure & Environment, said: “I am delighted to welcome Darren to the team. He brings a wealth of experience and has worked on numerous high-profile projects. His appointment reflects our continued commitment to grow our infrastructure team in the regions.”
