Warrington’s Sankey House sold

The 28,000 sq ft office building on Birchwood Boulevard has been bought by Your Housing Group for an undisclosed sum.

The vendor was charity TBI & KF Thompson Ministries Trust.

Sankey House is a 28,400 sq ft office building split over three floors. It forms part of Warrington’s Birchwood Point commercial scheme and was built by HBG, now Bam Construct, in the 1990s. Neighbouring occupiers include software company MDS, travel company Avios and shoe retailer New Balance.

The sale was one of two large transactions to complete in Birchwood within the space of seven days. The other was Stantec’s leasehold acquisition of 22,000 sq ft at 2 Daten Park.

Mark Canning, director of Canning O’Neill, which acted on behalf of TBI & KF Thompson Ministries Trust, said: “Birchwood had been a little quiet for larger occupiers over the second half of the year but at a stroke there is now a very limited supply in the area of quality larger space.”
