Warrington property review launched
Warrington Council launched its twelfth annual property review for the area at St James Court, Warrington town centre's business centre.
The report was compiled by local agents BE Group and the event was attended by over 90 commercial business and property professionals from across the region.
Within BE Group's report, it said:
- The largest office deal to date took place when Home Office pre-let 157,000 sq ft at Marshall CDP's Birchwood Corporate
- Last year saw the highest number of investment transactions for over three years
- Eighteen retail lettings took place at Golden Square, which BE Group said reflected continued strength in the town's shopping centre
- The Orford Park project continued momentum with completion of the community sports village masterplan and granting of outline planning. The project is being led by Warrington Council in partnership with The Orford Neighbourhood Project, Warrington Collegiate, Warrington Wolves, William Beamont High School, Warrington Disability Partnership, Network Warrington and the Warrington PCT
Vince Sandwell, director of BE Group, said: "It was good to see so many people both from Warrington and the wider region attending this event. Its success was partly due to the increased confidence in the market and interest in what's happening around Warrington town centre."
Bill Preedy, portfolio manager at commercial property investors Taregtfollow, which were sponsors of this year's event, added: "St James Court will very much be an integral part of those town centre plans that were outlined at the launch. The quality of accommodation, accessibility and parking at St James Court proved a hit with the many visitors attending the review event, and we are confident we will see a continued interest in our business centre in the future."
