Walker Sime associate director passes away

Norman Christie, associate director at the property consultant, has passed away aged 59 after a short illness.

Christie died last week after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April this year. He had been a key part of Walker Sime’s quantity surveying and bill production team since joining nearly six years ago, and had extensive industry experience having previously worked for Savills and the Simon Fenton Partnership.

He started his career in the public sector before moving into the private sector in 1987.

Outside work, Christie was a keen musician, playing in a number of local brass bands, and performed at venues across the world including the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House.

He lived in Manchester and leaves behind his wife Emma, and two children, Ellie and Sam.

A funeral service will take place at St Chads Church in Uppermill at 10:30am on Thursday 1 August.

RIP Norman – such sad news, he was a fantastic bloke, worked with him several times and he was a joy to be around. He will be missed Thoughts and prayers are with Emma and family.
