Walker leaves CBRE for developer

Mike Walker, senior director in CBRE's industrial agency team, is to depart at the end of the year to join Chancerygate.

Walker joined CBRE in 2011 from Colliers International. He heads up the industrial agency across the North West and will be replaced by director Paul Cook.

CBRE said it would be looking to make "strategic recruitments" to the industrial team.

Walker is due to take up a position as development director at industrial developer Chancerygate in January, and will be based in Manchester. He will join project manager Ian Anderson, who left Barwood Developments in August to establish Chancerygate's Manchester office after the developer announced a £100m development push into the regions.

Chancerygate's office is in 9 Chapel Walks. Schemes in the North West include the 130,000 sq ft S:Park development in Stockport where it recently completed the 80,000 sq ft final phase of the scheme.

Eddie Cook, managing director of Chancerygate, said: "Mike's appointment is a major step towards extending our development activities outside of our core areas of activity in the South East.

"He is a vastly experienced industrial and logistics agent and has comprehensive knowledge of markets throughout the North West. Having Mike and Ian in Manchester gives us a great platform for initiating new projects as well as having local expertise on our current portfolio."
