Waitrose picks Pochin in Cheshire

Pochin Special Projects has won a £263,000 contract to build the 7,000 sq ft unit that will house a new Waitrose food store in Knutsford.

Waitrose will occupy the former Blockbuster and Travelbag units on Top Street in Knutsford. Antony Pochin, operations director of Pochin Special Projects, said: "The new Waitrose will create more than 65 new jobs for the town, so it is fantastic to be involved in a project that will have such a positive effect on the local community.

"Pochin starts on site on 29 November and will bring the unit to shell accommodation ready for the fit-out to be carried out by February next year."

The new store is scheduled to open in spring 2011.
