Wagamama signs at Media City

Asian restaurant operator Wagamama is the latest leisure offer to say it will come to Media City UK in Salford Quays.

Wagamama, which has more than 100 outlets around the world, will be based next to Prezzo in the Orange Tower occupied by Salford University and ITV at Peel's £650m development.

Costa Coffee, upmarket grocer Booths and WH Smith have already committed to Media City UK, where BBC staff began arriving in May.

Chester-based The Red House is also rumoured to be about to sign up, according to the unofficial online magazine Media City Blog.

Stephen Wild, managing director of Media City UK, said: "Wagamama is a fast-growing high street food brand known for delivering a range of fresh dishes quickly at a competitive price. We are pleased to bring them to Media City UK serving the needs of our visitors, residents and employees."

Wagamama is due to open at Media City in early 2012.
