Vivark hires delivery director

Merseyside repair and maintenance company Vivark has appointed Darren Smith as director of delivery.

Smith joined the company following a spell as an independent consultant advising on the mobilisation and set-up of new businesses.

Previous to this he spent seven years with Mears Group, a nationwide provider of repairs and maintenance services, where he progressed from a financial auditor role through to a regional contract manager for the North West over five years.

In his new role he will be working to instil a more commercial focus to Vivark while ensuring its core values as a social enterprise are embedded throughout all areas of the business.

He will be building on the existing partnership with Knowsley Housing Trust, while pursuing private sector business predominantly in the facilities management market.

Vivark is a social enterprise, putting profits back into services and creating opportunities for the communities it works in.

The company is based in Knowsley and is part of the First Ark Group, which also includes Knowsley Housing Trust.
