Vincents expands in Preston

Vincents Solicitors has hired and promoted within its growing commercial property department across Lancashire.

The law firm has welcomed solicitor Simon John and has promoted former paralegal Sanya Motorwala to trainee solicitor.

The pair are part of the team headed by commercial lead Mark Alexander, alongside solicitor James Yates and commercial litigator Neil Jones.

John worked as a quantity surveyor for 15 years before moving into law, now specialising in property and construction.

Most recently he worked for Burnley Council advising on development agreements, construction contracts, framework agreements, public procurement, leases and grant funding applications. He was involved with a number of schemes including the new University Technical College as part of the Weavers Triangle development, and the new Manchester Road Station as part of the Todmorden Curve project.

Motorwala joined earlier this year from Curtis Law in Blackburn and previously worked for Forbes Solicitors for eight years in the corporate and commercial property teams. She is working directly with Mark Alexander on property and corporate matters.

Mark Alexander said: “Both Simon and Sanya have proven records in commercial and property law, and will be valuable members of the team, providing expert advice for our clients at a time when we’re taking on more deals, sales, acquisitions and contracts than ever before.”
