Villafont submits plans for Dane Road apartments

McGoff Group’s housing arm Villafont Homes has submitted a planning application for 29 apartments at a site along the Bridgewater Canal, just off Dane Road in Sale.

Villafont plans to demolish the existing Mayfield House office and The Lodge, a residential property, on the site opposite the Bridge Pub, and replace them with 21 two-bedroom apartments and eight one-bedroom flats over four storeys.

Three units – two one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment – have been designated as affordable homes.

McGoff Group’s construction arm will act as main contractor for the scheme.

The development neighbours the existing Metro House, a former office which was converted into 21 apartments this year.

The professional team includes Street Design Partnership as architect and Garner Town Planning as planning consultant. The project has already been through a pre-application process between December 2016 and March this year.

Other McGoff Group projects in Manchester include Downtown, a 368 apartment scheme along the River Irwell which started on site this year. It is scheduled to complete on a phased basis during 2019.
