Vicinity seeks repairs and maintenance contractors

Liverpool-based Vicinity Housing Group wants to establish a four year framework agreement with several property maintenance companies.

Through its subsidiaries Liverpool Housing Trust, Cobalt Housing, Beechwood and Ballantyne Community Housing Association, and Ribble Valley Homes, Vicinity owns and manages approximately 17,500 homes in Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire.

Vicinity said Cobalt Housing is acting as the lead contracting authority although expressions of interest for maintenance work on housing stock and office buildings owned by the other authorities are being invited.

Vicinity said the services will be provided in five lots across Liverpool, Wirral and Runcorn "under a number of separate called-off contracts".

The total value of the contracts is £28.3m.

In July, Vicinity and Contour Housing Group in Salford agreed to join forces to form a new North West housing group. The new parent company will comprise seven stock holding member organisations with property portfolios ranging in size from 1,000 to 12,000 and totalling more than 36,000 homes.

Deadline for submitting tenders is 12pm on Wednesday 15 December.
