Vermont on the move

Liverpool developer and contractor Vermont has moved to a new 5,000 sq ft head office within the Quarter scheme in its home city.

No. 1 Sefton Street will house a 50-strong team working across the residential, student, leisure and retail sectors at the expanding business.

Vermont, which also has a base at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, said that it expects to turn over £55m between April 2017 and March 2018, up from £17m in 2015, and has a further £120m of secured construction orders beyond 2018.

Projects currently underway include the first phase of the £107m X1 Manchester Waters development, together with the initial phase of The Campus development at the University of Salford.

Vermont is due to complete the 196-apartment tower that will be the final phase of the 600-apartment Quarter development in December 2018 and is also on-site with X1 Media City scheme at Salford Quays, which comprises four 26-storey residential towers.

Chief executive Mark Connor said: “This is an exciting time for the business as we plan for the future and the new head office will be instrumental to our continued success and growth.

“We will continue to focus on the residential and student sectors, albeit this market is evolving with the growth of PRS and now institutional funding finding its way into the Liverpool and Manchester markets.”

The firm has also confirmed its intention to establish the Vermont Investment Trust in 2017 which will look to provide seed capital and investment into local start-up businesses with all returns generated to be gifted to charities in the area.
