Venmore brings Princes Park hotel to auction

Liverpool auctioneer, Venmore, will put 61 lots under the hammer at its next auction at the end of May.

The catalogue features a mix of lots including residential, commercial and development opportunities for landlords and investors, with a number of lots especially in need of refurbishment.

One property Venmore expects will attract developers is Lot 22, a former hotel with 41 bedrooms, a large lounge and dining areas in the Princes Park area south of Liverpool city centre.

Geoff Guest, auction and commercial director at Venmore's Dale Street branch, said: "This Victorian semi-detached property has a guide price of £425,000-plus and offers an excellent opportunity for a variety of uses including a conversion into luxury apartments or refurbishment with a view to returning to it its former glory."

The property, set over four floors, has a large plot backing onto Princes Park and a substantial three-storey extension to the side.

Guest added: "The number of lots for each of our auctions this year has continued to increase auction by auction, proving that buyers and vendors alike are encouraged by the auction market and have more faith in the process. We have a diverse mix that will interest a larger target market at this auction, from keen investors looking for a large project to first time buyers who are out for a bargain – we're expecting a large turnout."

The next Venmore Auction takes place on Wednesday 30 May 2012 at 1pm in Liverpool Town Hall.
