USS signs Peacocks at Manchester Fort
Fashion chain Peacocks has taken a 7,300 sq ft unit at Manchester Fort Shopping Park, the largest out-of-town retail scheme in Manchester.
Peacocks will open this month, trading over ground and mezzanine floors at the park in Cheetham Hill, North Manchester. The letting follows the 15,000 sq ft deal with Outfit, Arcadia's multi-brand fashion store, which opened last year.
Manchester Fort has also signed several catering firms with O'Briens opening a 1,000 sq ft sandwich bar on a 10-year lease; KFC is to open a 2,600 sq ft drive-thru and restaurant unit, taken on a 20-year lease.
Fergus Egan, retail and leisure portfolio fund manager at park owner the Universities Superannuation Scheme, commented: "The fashion provision at Manchester Fort has grown from strength to strength, with Peacocks joining the line up shortly after Outfit opened last year. The scheme continues to offer a varied and vibrant retail mix, with fashion, sportswear, books and more as well as a good mix of family friendly restaurants and eateries."
Manchester Fort Shopping Park extends to 325,000 sq ft with 1,300 customer car parking spaces and offers over 30 national retailers. Tenants include Next, Borders, Blacks, Clarks, Superdrug, Boots, Sports World, Argos, Mamas & Papas and TK Maxx.
Wilkinson Williams is the letting agent.
