Urban Vision director appointed for national role

Richard Wynne, client director of Urban Vision Partnership, has been appointed as one of two national liaison officers for urban regeneration by the Association of Chief Estates Surveyors.

Wynne was officially recruited for the organisation following an announcement at the ACES annual general meeting on 12 November.

He has been on the executive committee of ACES North West for five years, holding the position of chairman of the branch in 2008 and 2009.

Within the role, Wynne will carry out the following work:

  • Act as an advisor on all matters to do with urban regeneration
  • To report to ACES council on upcoming government legislation and regulations
  • Advise council and the members on good practice
  • Disseminate information to the ACES membership

Wynne currently heads up the property and development team at Urban Vision, which looks after a range of property services.

Urban Vision said his role requires him to implement complex regeneration partnerships, working with colleagues to deliver property acquisition, sales, management, building and landscape design, project management, refurbishment, maintenance and facilities management.

He has public sector experience, having worked with Salford City Council on a number of private/public partnership regeneration initiatives.

Wynne said: "I am looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and working with colleagues on ACES Council. The public sector property agenda is substantial and ACES provides a valuable link in the growth of the property professions and the dissemination of knowledge and experience across both the North West and nationally."

Urban Vision is a joint venture company between Salford City Council, Capita Symonds and Morrison Highways Maintenance, which delivers development and regeneration services aimed at providing safe, accommodating and future-driven neighbourhoods and inspiring urban landscapes.

Urban Vision provides support service across property, planning and building control, architectural, landscape design and highways services for both public and private sector clients.

Urban Vision has 400 staff operating across offices in Eccles and Salford, as well as Birmingham.

The Association of Chief Estates Surveyors represents the professional heads of property and asset management services in local authorities, as well as senior professionals in other public sector organisations, and includes senior surveyors in the private sector who provide professional services to public sector clients.
