Urban Splash to replace Fit Club at Matchbox

Urban Splash is to replace the gym operator signed up to its Matchbox development in South Liverpool, Place understands.

Despite an announcement in April local company Fit Club Liverpool will not be taking up occupation of the landmark building.

Urban Splash completed Matchbox in December 2007. The 20,000 sq ft building was completed as speculative offices and was the developer's first new build in the city.

Another gym occupier has now been lined up to replace Fit Club Liverpool. The name of the new occupier is not yet known. The reasons for the tenant replacement are not yet clear.

Readers on Place left comments on the April story to say they had made payments to Fit Club Liverpool already but the company cannot be contacted. It is understood full refunds will be made to customers who have made payments.

There was no answer at Fit Club Liverpool when called by Place this morning.

Urban Splash declined to comment today.

My husband and I paid £10 each to join the fit club, and cannot contact them to get a refund. Harland direct debit company will not pay us the deposit back, either. I’m disgusted with this company.
