Urban Splash lays off communications staff

Developer Urban Splash has made several redundancies across its marketing, public relations and graphics teams.

Among those leaving are Lisa Ashurst, head of communications, along with Ian Wilson and Ben Kennedy, both marketing project managers. All leave the firm at the end of this week.

The communications teams have been pared back but not closed altogether and staff including communications manager Leane Forshaw remain.

The company has not specified how many staff have been cut following the announcement in September that the 280-strong workforce was entering a consultation period over redundancies. Construction division Urban Splash Build has also been affected.

Other developers have also ceased PR contracts and laid off press office staff. Hannah Woolnough has left Bruntwood where she was press officer for Liverpool and will not be replaced.
