Urban Green announces new director

Manchester-based design and environmental consultancy Urban Green has appointed Martin King as director.

King joins from Capita Property & Infrastructure where he was regional director, having spent 11 years overseeing the growth of its Northern design and landscape operations.

King will work alongside existing directors Nick Carter and Scott Fitzgerald to develop Urban Green's landscape, arboriculture and ecology offering. He will lead on some of Urban Green's existing projects including the regeneration of the 118-acre former Sappi paper mill site in Feniscowles, Blackburn.

King has worked on urban regeneration and construction projects across the North of England including the Blackburn Town Centre Renaissance Programme, Building Schools for the Future schemes in Lancashire and Rochdale, and public realm improvements in Burnley, Whitley Bay and Oban in Scotland.

Nick Carter, director at Urban Green said: "Martin joins us at an exciting time, as we look to enhance our existing environmental services and deliver creative, technically excellent solutions to our clients."
