University seeks partner for £15m halls
Chester University has started the tender process to select a contractor to build its latest accommodation block, which gained planning consent in February.
The Broadway Malyan-designed hall of residence will house 196 students on the campus in Parkgate Road. The four-storey building will be opposite the Learning Resource Centre and next to the all-weather sports pitches.
The tender brief describes a budget of between £10m and £15m for a 12-month build.
As well as the self-catering study bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, the brick structure will include 75,000 sq ft of ancillary uses such as waste storage, secure cycle parking, sports changing facilities, a common room and reception area.
Hill Dickinson and Turner & Townsend advise Chester University.
