University picks accommodation developer

A consortium made up of investor Equitix, construction firms Kier and Graham and student accommodation operator Campus Living Villages has been selected to build a 1,367-bed development for Salford University.

Construction of the £64m halls on the university's Peel Park campus will begin in November 2013. Completion is due in time for the academic year 2015/16.

CLV is the incumbent provider of student accommodation at the university and has been operating residences John Lester, Eddie Colman and Bramall Court since 2008.

Each flat will include its own kitchen and lounge space. Residents will also benefit from a generous reception area, TV and games room, gym, group study lounges, demonstration and private dining kitchen, launderette and a cinema room.
