University campus project moves to next phase

Liverpool Hope University has launched the search for a contractor to deliver a 31,000 sq ft extension to the School of Health Sciences at Hope Park campus.

The contract value is expected to be between £6.5m and £7.5m. The project will involve the development of two-storey extensions to the existing science building and a sports hall.

The teaching block will include laboratories, classrooms, sports assessment rooms and administration facilities.

An existing single-storey building will be demolished to facilitate the development.

In January, Leeds-based Watson Batty Architects was appointed by the university to design the scheme.

Construction is expected to complete in autumn 2015.

The deadline for receipt of tenders is the 30 June 2014 at noon.
