Uni names engineering framework

Lancaster University has appointed five companies to a structural and civil engineering consultancy design framework.

Arup, Curtins, Sinclair Knight Merz, Sutcliffe Projects and WYG Engineering will support the current services of the in-house facilities management team, as well as providing architectural, engineering, urban planning and landscaping consultancy across the Lancaster University campus.

The three-year framework is effective immediately and will focus on upcoming refurbishment and new build projects. Sixty companies tendered for the work.

Arup and WYG also feature on the University's mechanical and electrical consultancy framework.

Lancaster University is currently investing £12.25m in the construction of a new engineering building which is being delivered by Eric Wright Construction. A spokesman for the university said that the next project in the pipeline is a refurbishment of the physics department building.
