UK Land & Property secure office letting in Merseyside

Kier has taken 15,000 sq ft of office space on a 10-year lease from UK Land & Property at The Estuary in Speke, Merseyside.

The building and civil engineering contractor has relocated from Knowsley Industrial Park and will join existing occupiers including Keepmoat plc, HBOS, Riverside Group and Littlewoods Home Shopping.

The office quarter at The Estuary has 5,000 sq ft immediately available and when fully completed, the scheme will total 140,000 sq ft in buildings from 10,000 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft.

Ian Sherry, development director at UK Land & Property, said: "Kier is a real coup for us and further demonstrates the extent and quality of the offering at Estuary. In this current climate it's comforting to see that the occupational market is still showing levels of significant activity and we have no doubt that the Kier brand will further enhance South Liverpool as Merseyside's out of town location of choice."

Nigel Brook, managing director, Kier NW added: "Our move to Estuary sends a strong message to the market that Kier is committed to the North West. It's a location, which we can be proud of and will provide the perfect platform to help grow the business across all sectors over the next five years. We are now carrying out the office fit out and, once complete in March next year, the scheme will house approximately 100 employees."

UK Land & Property were advised by Brabner Chaffe Street.

CBRE and King Sturge are joint agents for the scheme.
