UCLan dental practice starts on site

Work has started on a £1.2m postgraduate dental practice for the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

The 6,200 sq ft facility was designed by architectural practice Cassidy & Ashton and will see internal alterations and an extension to the Harrington Building in Adelphi Street.

The practice will be open to the public and feature a teaching clinic, four dental surgeries, two oral surgeries, X-ray room, a waiting area and various ancillary rooms.

Iain Scales, director of Cassidy & Ashton, said: "We have built up an 18-year relationship with UCLan, including designing the Harrington Building in 1993, therefore we are confident that we can work together as a team to achieve the best results."

Conlon Construction is the contractor on the project. Completion is due in June.
