Turley strengthens heritage department

Planning consultancy Turley has hired Graeme Ives as associate director in its Manchester heritage team.

Ives joined the 15-strong team from his role as principal inspector for Historic England in the North West.

Earlier this year, Turley recruited Claire Easton from the Council of British Archaeology as heritage planner, and has promoted Katy Lightbody to director. Lightbody was one of the founding members of the Turley heritage team when she joined in 2010.

Roger Mascall, director and head of heritage, said: “This is an exciting time for our Manchester based-team which, combined with the recent expansion of our team in London, means that we now have a considerable resource to dedicate to our existing and prospective clients.

“The management of change in the historic environment requires expertise and experience and our expanding team combines academic and practical strengths to advise our clients when considering proposals that affect heritage assets and their settings.”
