The independent property and construction consultant has appointed Hugo Bradley to heads its first office in the north of England.

Tuffin Ferraby Taylor is opening an office in Peter House on Oxford Street, Manchester, which is currently up for sale by Hermes and Aviva at £15m.

Tuffin Ferraby Taylor has five offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Guildford and London, with the Manchester office due to open on Friday 1 July.

Bradley was regional director at Bovis Lend Lease Consulting and joins the company with over 20 years' experience in property and construction.

Alan Pemberton, managing partner of Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, said: "Hugo has a great depth of knowledge and experience in our industry having worked for a number of well known consultancies across the property and construction sectors, including CBRE, Healey and Baker and Drivers Jonas. He also brings extensive managerial skills having led large teams in his previous positions.

"This appointment and new office opening is an important step in our five year growth plan at TFT – to double our net turnover by 2016. The office in Manchester enables us to service our existing and future clients in the North of England with greater efficiency."

Although TFT could not immediately disclose details of how many staff will join Bradley in the city, the company said the Manchester team will offer services including dilapidations, technical due diligence, project monitoring, project management and sustainability consultancy.

Pemberton adds: "Over the last 12 months we have been studying the market and assessing our own business in order to make as accurate as possible predictions on the directions the construction industry and commercial property sectors are heading.

"At TFT we have always strived to move forward and we feel that the changing economic conditions present a number of opportunities for us and our clients. For this reason we have, this year, launched an ambitious five-year growth strategy. We see it as vital that we put in place a robust business plan that reflects how we see things developing. This includes opening new offices in new locations and employing more of the best professional talent that match our strong reputation and respected expertise."
