TSK picks up Weightmans’ Spinningfields brief

Law firm Weightmans has appointed TSK to design and deliver its new Manchester office in No.1 Spinningfields, set for completion this spring.

The relocation will see the firm combine its two existing Manchester offices from Three Piccadilly Place and Pall Mall on King Street, bringing its team together across 18,000 sq ft in what is now the city’s tallest commercial building.

Tim Crane, account director at TSK, said: “Working closely with a business to fully understand its workplace needs and create a space that enables its team to thrive is exactly what TSK is about. Weightmans is embracing the future of workplace, tailoring its new home around its employees and clients alike, which is music to our ears.

“We’re really excited to be creating this workspace for Weightmans, bringing its whole Manchester workforce into one cohesive, flexible and contemporary space.”

In June 2017, Weightmans became the third law firm to commit to Allied London’s showpiece office building, following Squire Patton Boggs and Browne Jacobson – both these firms moved into No.1 in January. The building was 90% let on completion last autumn, subsequently being bought by Schroders Investment Management for around £200m.

Richard Corran, Weightmans partner and head of the Manchester operation, said: “No. 1 Spinningfields was absolutely the right choice for our new Manchester office. As the commercial centre of Manchester, we’re at the heart of business and near many of our clients.

“Relocating to such a distinct building, it is important for us to translate our company needs into the character of the space. We’re incredibly excited to see our team and our clients work, collaborate and thrive in a space designed around them.”
