Tritax gears up for big year with director hire

Logistics developer Tritax Symmetry has appointed Andrew Bain as construction director for the North and Scotland as it aims to deliver 3m sq ft of industrial space in the next 12 months.

Bain joins from Property 456 – previously known as Midia and more recently Granite Turner – where he spent just over a year as development director before departing in October.

At Tritax, Bain will be based in Manchester and will work alongside national construction director Kevin Theobold to oversee the developer’s pipeline of work.

Projects Tritax is delivering include the 1m sq ft Symmetry Park Merseyside and a further 1.4m sq ft at Symmetry Park Wigan.

“Over the next 12 months, we will be building out 3m sq ft of logistics accommodation across the business to exact specifications, including delivering our buildings to net zero carbon in construction.

“This role is critical to the management of risk and the successful delivery of the development programme. Andrew is highly-regarded in the industry as an expert in his field and is an excellent addition to the team.”

Bain has previously worked for Kier Construction and Himor, now rebranded as Wain Estates.

“The opportunity to work with a developer with the funding firepower that Tritax Symmetry has was too good to miss and I look forward to working with the team and supply chains to provide outstanding facilities for our clients,” Bain said.
