Trio of housebuilders in for 1,000 Nantwich homes

Acting for housebuilders Taylor Wimpey, Redrow Homes and David Wilson Homes, HOW Planning has submitted a reserved matters planning application for a new housing development in Nantwich.

The application covers 997 new homes and is thought to be the largest ever reserved matters application to go before Cheshire East Council. If approved, the houses will be built on land at Kingsley Fields. An outline scheme for the site was approved in January 2016.

The 143-acre site sits within walking distance of Nantwich town centre. The housing mix will be a combination of detached, semi-detached and terraced housing and apartments. Taylor Wimpey are due to deliver 366 homes, with Redrow and David Wilson contributing 319 and 312 respectively.

Approval of the scheme will also release capital to enable the landowner Reaseheath College’s development programme, which includes a new Agricultural Technology Centre, halls of residence, an extension to the Higher Education and Business Centre and new health facilities.

Kingsley Fields has long been identified as having the capacity to meet local housing needs and raise money for the college. Plans for a different project were put forward by Reaseheath and partner Mosaic Estates in 2013.

Jon Suckley, partner at HOW Planning, said: “The proposed development presents a fantastic opportunity for Cheshire East Council to assist with the delivery of much needed family homes in a highly sustainable location.”
