Developer Accrue Capital has submitted an outline planning application to Trafford Council for a 433-home build-to-rent scheme on the former B&Q site in Old Trafford.
Accrue is working with Indigo Planning, and Manchester architect O’Connell East on the scheme, and undertook public consultation in February, since when it has made changes to the scheme to support the application, in parking and traffic, affordability and visual impacts.
The homes planned for Trafford Place will include a mix of one-bed, two-bed and three-bed properties, as well as new public realm, and ground floor units designed for a range of commercial or community uses. Car and cycle parking will be provided beneath a podium level, and the scheme will also include a car club.
The building has been designed so that it steps up from six storeys in height away from Great Stone Road, to a maximum height of 12 storeys above the parking.

The Great Stone Road site formerly housed the Hardrock concert venue before it was taken on by DIY group B&Q.
