Transport Planning Associates has hired former FMW Consultancy technical director Susan Haslam to establish a team in Manchester, with the company aiming to hit revenues of between £1m and £1.5m within five years.
Haslam, who joined as an associate director last month, will be based in flexible workspace in Hardman Street to help establish the team, and the company will be aiming to hire more staff and generate revenue of between £1m and £1.5m in five years’ time in the Manchester market.
It also has aspirations to move into its own office in the city.
She was formerly technical director at transport and infrastructure consultant FMW, and headed up the firm’s office in King Street, but left the company after it relocated to Salford Quays.
Halsam has also worked for SBA and was a technical director at Axis PED.
Rupert Lyons, director at TPA, said: “As a maturing consultancy practice with an established client base in the south of England, we have been contemplating the geographical expansion of TPA into the North West for some time.”
“It was a real pleasure to have been introduced to Susan and for us to be able to align her career aspirations with our expansion plans and to embark on this new venture together.”
“Susan brings with her a broad range of consultancy experience with SME transport consultancies. She has impressive and established client and professional contacts in the region.”
The company also has offices in Bristol, Cambridge, London, Oxford, and Welwyn Garden City. Its London office was established in 2014 and now employs 12 staff.
