Towers to get £1.8m facelift

Joint venture partners Moorfield and Property Alliance Group have appointed Russells Construction to carry out a refurbishment of the Towers business park in Didsbury, south Manchester.

Four buildings and outdoor public spaces at the 20-acre business estate are benefiting from the £1.8m investment as part of a rolling programme by the joint venture partnership of Moorfield Group on behalf of the Moorfield Real Estate Fund II and Property Alliance Group.

Contractor Russells Construction has completed the refurbishment of 8,080 sq ft Spectrum House and has commenced work on the refurbishment of 7,000 sq ft of the 21,000 sq ft Honeywell House. The firm will also start on site at the 14,000 sq ft refurbishment of Kingston House and the 20,000 sq ft refurbishment of Scotscroft House later this month.

Designed by architects Leach Rhodes Walker, the masterplan for the site aims to create a more modern look and feel and improve the facilities.

Andrew Russell, director of Russells Construction, said: "Towers is more than 20 years old and the work we're doing will create the high quality modern finish that tenants expect at a business estate of this calibre. Refurbishment has remained a strong sector of work for contractors over the last few years, as many occupiers chose to improve their facilities rather than move. Forward thinking landlords, who have been investing in upgrading their stock, have raised the bar and are reaping the rewards through retaining tenants and signing new occupiers."

Dominic Pozzoni, director at Property Alliance Group, added: "A heritage estate with state-of-the-art offices, Towers is a fantastic combination of attractive location and modern amenities. The investment across the estate, coupled with the work-life tenant engagement programme, are proving their worth.

"We look forward to completing the next phase of the works, which will further improve the look and feel of the public spaces, and to announcing new tenants to Towers."

Joint agents at Towers are WHR and CBRE. The rents are from £20/sq ft.
