Tower Wharf office scheme approved

Proposals for a 48,000 sq ft office by Longmeadow Estates at Tower Wharf in Birkenhead have been passed by Wirral Council.

The four-storey office block designed by Falconer Chester Hall would occupy a currently vacant piece of land owned by the Homes & Communities Agency. The scheme is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Karl Bergh, managing director of Longmeadow Estates, said negotiations are continuing with an occupier to take the majority of the space in the building which is due to be completed in October 2015.

Falconer Chester Hall worked with Longmeadow Estates previously to deliver offices in Wirral for Magenta Living and The Contact Company.

Adam Hall, managing director of Falconer Chester Hall, said: "We have referenced the building's location in its design to reflect the trading vessels which once would have stood in the nearby docks. It has also been designed to achieve the BREEAM `Excellent' rating for sustainability."
